WWII Veterans Support - Part I
Dear clients and visitors of our site,
On the 10th of May 2005, as part of the 60 year anniversary of World War II victory celebration, AEwebworks Dating Software Development Ltd., plans to support 10 veterans in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (a former USSR republic). As our company's technical office is located in Bishkek, we figured that it would be most appropriate to thank veterans that live in this city for their sacrifice. It is our way to pay back for a peaceful life and a world without fascism. We encourage you to participate in this action and assist us in this noble act. To perform this, we have asked the non-governmental organization "Center for Public Policy" to assist us in finding these veterans, visiting them and granting our support.
In total, 363 thousand citizens of Kyrgyzstan participated in World War II, out of which 130 thousand died during this war. Kyrgyz troops participated in WWII from the first days. The famous Panfilov's brigade was formed on the 12 of July 1941 in Kyrgyzstan. At that time, it was called the 1075th brigade of the 316th rifle division. It was later called the Panfilov division after its commander general-major I.V. Panfilov, who was granted the Soviet Union Hero title after famous feats of his brigade.
On the 16th of November 1941, tanks and motorized infantry of Fascist troops moved on the Panfoliv brigade's positions less than 7 km to the south-east of Volokolamsk, near Dubosekova, Russia after massive air bombing and artillery attack. Panfilov's brigade was able to resist the Fascist attacks for 4 hours and destroyed up to 50 tanks.
23 died and 5 were wounded. All 28 panfilovs including Panfilov himself were granted the Soviet Union Hero title. Some of these heroes were born in Kyrgyzstan. In memory of this feat, a monument of 28 heroes-panfilovs was erected near Dubosekova. In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, a monument to I.V. Panfilov was also erected in memory of this man and his brigade. Later on, Panfilov's division was granted the Red Banner Order and transformed into the 8th guards.
We plan to collect 1000 USD for this campaign. For our part, we will grant 100 USD from each sale of aeDating made from the 6th to the 10th of May, 2005. In case we raise more than 1000 USD, we plan either to find more veterans to help or to provide more support to the 10 chosen. You can support us either by linking to this page from your site or by donating to our veterans fund.
