I can't promote my site until I get a REAL forum.   After all this time sticking with Dolphin, and putting so much effort into it, it would be a shame to have to flush the last 2 years down the toilet, but I'll damn sure do it if I'm left with no other choice.

To what extent of integration you looking for. Stand alone integrating only the members, logons ect, or have the forums iframed in or.....

Full integration I would say. I have money, does that help? (I ultimately decided against the PHOBB mod even though I had already purchased it)

Basically, IPB should share the Dolphin user, registration, and login system.  I do not need to have IPB for the Events and Groups forums.  I'd want any IPB features that create a redundancy, disabled.... IPB profiles, avatars, etc.  That demo page above is an autosizing Iframe, which I hate, and it would be nice to do away with it.

i would be very interested in it as well. i have the phpbb mod but my old posts are not showing properly so i'm not happy with it at the moment. if you do get this mod please let me know if its possible to transfer files from the phpbb into the IPB.

I simply prefer Invision Power Board 2.3.6. It's still supported, and I am more than familiar with the way it functions, as well as what is needed to modify it to my needs. It also comes with far more available modifications and styles, but of course, that will change in due time when Invision Power Board 3 comes out of it's "recently released" stage.

Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer the way it works over the recent major release.

Also ipb3 has a new file system as well.  They moved everything all around sort of like boonex just did with dolphin 7. Alot of files are now in different locations and i think if there was a 2.3.6 ipb mod  it would not work if you upgraded to ipb 3 after.

@magnusoft  You make a good point.  I have a vBulletin site I keep at 3.6.4 for those very reasons.  I decided to use IPB for my D7 site because I like the back end a little better than VB.  I am counting on the arcade mod at ipbcoding.com to be made available for IPB 3.

I have also been working on a solution to migrate D7 with IPB.

IPB have a program IP.Converge which is free when you purchase IP.Board.

This will allow you to use BoonEx login Auth with IP.Board.

I haven't yet tested it all but I will tonight and will post a FREE integration instruction on the market (if I'm allowed)

Well I tested IP.Converge and it only works on IPB 2.2.

IPB 2.2 onwards are still very stable versions of IPB and aren't outdated

Just to update you HL. I am still working on this. I have been wasting a lot of time trying to find a way to do this without putting it in a iframe. I know how much you hate them.

Couldn't you just set the IPB script to display BoonEx headers and footers, rather than the IPB headers and footers?

I could, but that would require a bit of IPB code reworking to make the necessary includes for dolphin so everything properly works.

Anyhow, i did find a way to pull IPB without a IFRAME, but it's going to require quite a bit of IPB CSS rework to get things to display correctly because dolphins CSS and IPB CSS are clashing with each other. CSS rework would most likely be needed anyway to get IPB to match the rest of the dolphin site.

So , just to get this off the ground so the integration is functioning, i have decided to iframe the first version. I will work on a unframed version after.

I have part of the integration complete. Dolphin is creating members in IPB as needed. So things are going well so far.

Add Z-index attribute for menu parent control, make sure you also add the position attribute too - or it will not work.

I think i got the IPB stats glitch fixed. So far so good. Still a couple of other glitches to work out, then the task of putting it all into a pretty package, building a module for config settings, and perhaps a spy block for people to drop on the front page or where ever.

Now if i can just remember everything it did.

Now i did this with IPB installed to the dolphin database with a prefix on the IPB tables.

If you guys want support for IPB to run in it's own database, than that will take a bit longer.

Deano, I noticed you are working with 3.0.2.  IPB is up to 3.0.5.  I'm not sure what the differences are.  Do you expect differences between minor versions to affect your integration?

I run IPB with a separate DB, but it's no big deal merging the IPB db into the D7 db.

Think thats weird. A glitch occured during checkout of one of my market products, and someone elses purchace for a dolphin license for 299 showed up in my sale history with a different name than the buyer. Totally wacked that one is. I have boonex looking into that one.

Seems that BoonEx has a little issue with managing the accounts here on Unity.

I don't have a newer copy, but i don't expect there will be a problem. I can adapt it if needed. As long as the database tables i am accessing to do this have not changed between minor versions there should not be a problem.

All I know of is their changelog, and I'm not sure how detailed it is.
