Here's something for you to play around with.

Upload the attached swf file to your /flash/modules/chat/skins/ directory.

In your administration area, select Modules --> Flash Apps, and expand the AV Chat

Click on the 'Templates' icon, then select 'HL-Dark2' as the Default template, then Save.

Then go to your sites Chat page.  You mad have to do a hard refresh <CTRL> +F5 to see the new skin.  You may also have to clear your cache directories.

This skin is for amusement purposes only at this time, and I cannot recommend it for use on a live site until I fix an issue that appears to be related to font mapping.  The only place I have seen this issue is in the tools area of the chat.  Maybe some whiz kid can have a look at the problem (missing characters in button text), and suggest some things for me to check.... because it's eating my friggin brain.  There's also a white background behind the users in the chat room that I can't figure out where to change.

This is a pretty pathetic way to skin a flash app.  It's driving me insane.  If you like the idea of easily skinnable flash apps, see my recent blog post on the subject, and voice your opinion.  In the mean time, I'll keep working on this one until everything is working properly.  If I every get to that point, I'll put this in the Market... free, of course.

If any of you feel like testing this, feedback and helpful suggestions are welcome.

Have you thought about buying a mic for that screencap software?

It can use either a mic, or use the system audio.  I only use audio when necessary

installed your mod to a beta site...

Admin - Modules - Flash Apps - A/V Chat - Settings

Change "Normal user back color" to black ( 000000 )

Save

Interesting.  That just shows you my mindset.  Th admin section would have been the last place I'd have looked to change a chat skin color.

Now if you could just fix that missing character problem for me.....

Id have to see the file to the mod for that. Then again, you know as much as I do that Im not the brightest around here.

I've downloaded and installed it, it looks pretty good, I am amazed.

Just having a problem with some buttons, they are "shortened" ;) like in settings (in chat) the two buttons are labeled "y" and "ane".

I've translated in german and the buttons are similiar "estttigen" (instead "Bestätigen") and "reen" (instead "Abbrechen")

Any idea?

 There's nothing I can do, until Boonex decides to update their flash files (Adobe Flash 8), to a more modern day version.  This is a known problem when opening a Flash 8 source file with the most recent version of flash.  This is why I labeled this thread the way I did.
