Pets Mod Support (Modzzz) - part 2

@shannypoo - You can easily remove the Map block from the page builder. Some clients want it, that's why it is included. For the other changes, I would have to manually adjust the mod on your site.

Added the ability to add a Birth date instead of Age.

Pets Module - This is now compatible with Dolphin 7.2 . For those upgrading from Dolphin 7.1, please check the upgrade folder for instructions.

A number of adjustments have been made to this module. Re-upload the files, clear cache and recompile the language for the module.

Does it have Responsive Design?

 The module adapts to whatever template is installed on your Dolphin site.

demo does not work

The demo is available again. I am currently re-installing all demo sites and re-uploading all modules so there may be a few glitches for the next week or so.

 There is a language file for translation. Instructions are provided on how to translate.

How can I make some of the fields in the pet profile searchable? Such as the collar ID or tag number?

When a pet status is changed to lost, is their any place on the site that shows it? Is there a block that can be added to pages to display lost pets wherever we want? What does the lost pet option do right now?

 This requires code change. I will include Collar ID in the next update of the module.

 Presently you can browse lost Pets. Check the main menu for the module and you will see a menu item for this.

I installed the Pets mod and seems to work fine except it won't let me upload a pic.

 Can you upload pics for other modules such as Group, Events etc. ?

After some playing around with it I've learned that I can upload smaller pics (up to about 4 MB)  once I hit around 4MB I start getting the error.  I discovered this by trying to upload a GIF instead of a JPG (just grasping at staws) and it worked. GIF's being small by design, I just kept uploading larger and larger incrementally until i hit 4MB and got the error.

I took the one file that would not upload which was 4.08MB and compressed it to .5MB. It still wouldn't upload. so I keep trying to upload different pics trying to find a common thread. Some will upload fine, some won't and then some seem to upload but they turn out to be blank. The selector shows a black selection there but when I click on it there's not pic. Very strange....

@meljaxx - Are you saying that the pic you are having problems with is uploading fine in other mods (such as Groups, Events etc.) but it is only failing to upload in the Pets module ? I am trying to establish whether you are having a general upload issue with your site or specifically with the Pets module.

Sorry for the confusion. I tried it with the groups and same thing so it's a site wide problem. Not your concern.

Isn't the Pet Profile mod compatible with the Point System? I've run the sqlpoints file found in the Pet Profile package for the integration with the Point System, but The Pet Profile is not showing in the dropdown list in the Manage action (Admin: Points). It doesn't show on the Point list in the frontend either (mysite.com/m/point/home/).

I don't know whether it's a bug or I am missing something.

Please advise.

Just a little suggestion: instead of action name "Post a Pet", we should maybe use the words: "Add a Pet" ;)

@DigitZup - Thanks for the suggestion. You can modify it on the site by going to the Languages section in Admin Panel. The specific language key for that is _modzzz_point_pet_add_desc

On Sept 26. 2016, it was brought up that the module needs a searchable collar ID or tag number.  Previous conversation...

This requires code change. I will include Collar ID in the next update of the module.

Related to the question above... the "Collar Tag" search field is in the "Pet Search" category, but it doesn't work.  Do you have any suggestions on how I can make that search work?

Thanks, I really appreciate the quick fix!  But I should add that although you applied the fix to the "Pets Home" page, it was not applied to the "Search" page (e.g. it has the heading titled "Pet Search").  So, the same field search (e.g. Chip Number and Collar Tag) does not currently work on that particular page.  Thanks again!

Hello...  Sorry, but I found another glitch where the pet "lost date" field is not updating, whether you type it in or use the calendar to change the date for entering "lost notice".

I have been using this module and just discovered something that I do not understand. There were 6 photos of my dog from when he was a little puppy to about 6 mos old. Now he is 2y.o. and looks totally different.  So added a couple of new pics, but they appear very last on the list. In the edit  pet section, there was the pics in the Pet's Photos block therecare selectors for thumbnails, and for choosing what has been uploaded. 

There is no sort ability to show most recent, or default. But I took the checkmark out of the boxes under 4 photos in "CHOOSE"  and the photos disappear off the photos block, and the pet photos in the module. Fo they delete from the system? Or are they  still uploaded, but lost? 

This is the default functionality of the Photo feature in all Dolphin modules. If you uncheck "choose" the photos are removed. You can test this in Groups, Events and other modules also and you will see the same behavior.

Upgrading the site to a 7.4.2 and uploaded the 7.4 Pets Module and did a reinstall. I got an error SOMETHING WENT WRONG in a red box. So I uninstalled the module, deleted the files, and re-downloaded from Market and uploaded again. Same result. Any assistance?

Pets module is updated to fix issue with Dolphin 7.4 version. Kindly re-upload files.

In the pets module, a guest or a member can see the full street address in the LOCATION box on the Pet View page. The block permissions show that the Members and Guests are able to view the info. 

Where the problem lies, is that a person can view a member's home address in the clear. That information shouldn't be available to be seen by Guests or other members unless the pet is marked lost. Can the block be hidden for only admin & owner until the pet is marked as lost? This ensures that the privacy of the pet owner is maintained and only viewable to the public upon losing the pet. If the pet is recovered, then the lost notice is deactivated and the address is hidden again.

This seems like the best use of the field , yet maintain privacy to the member account.
