Me | For now quick fix for this is modify the lang strings :

from this : Your Username must contain only latin symbols, numbers or underscore ( _ ) or minus ( - ) signs
to this : Your Username must contain only latin symbols, numbers or underscore ( _ ) or see more minus ( - ) signs, also it might be you're username that you wanted to register is restricted/not allowed.

Just in case anyone else runs into this problem. I was using this on 7.01 and liked it to prevent users from trying to pass them self off as a site moderator, etc. However after I upgraded to 7.02 and receiving an email from a new user that was trying to join the site but could not I began to test our site. It turned out that no new users could join or existing users could edit their profile. After tracing down where the problem was coming from I discovered it was from this mod. To fix the issue see more you need to follow the instructions from this mod to edit inc/design.inc.php again. All I did was copy the change I made from a 7.01 backup. Is still a very much needed feature that is supplied with this mod. Thanks dolphinbugfixing. Peace
