Can't change main logo, help!

I can't change the main logo for my site. I still have the dolphin logo there and when I upload a .gif file it doesn't change. Can someone please help me, thanks.

Sure that it not affected at any page as logo?
Just now I recheck this feature - all works fine with GIF and JPG files

don't upload directly new logo to media/images!!! go to admin panel -> basic setings and upload your logo :)

I did all the things below and the logo will not show,
i have only a text string saying "logo"
any ideas?

I just had the same problem after going to admin panel>basic setting. It was not until I hit the back key, that the logo changed.

Have the same problem. Even if I hit "back" it doesn't work at all !!!!
