Report!

I'm making this post to remind everyone about the benefits of reporting.  Here's the list of benefits unavailable to those who report:

• a current-year car
• a house that's not worth less now than when you bought it
• a pet that actually loves you, and isn't just pretending to get you to feed it

"Why should I report when these wondrous prizes aren't on the table?"  I can hear you asking this, but don't worry.  Here's the list of benefits that are available to those who report:

• a sticker that says "I reported"

"Amazing!  Sign me up!"  Excellent!  All you need to do is report any content you see as suspicious, or obviously rule-breaking/illegal.  It's that easy.

I figured it's about time I write a post for those who don't know that -gasp- we moderators (or at least I do) read the reports, even the job reports that can't be viewed from the moderation panel for some reason.  I make sure to respond to every report made, except the reports from a few months ago, because that was almost three years ago now.

I would also like to take this moment to remind people (and educate those unaware, because only three people actually know this) that when you report a product for a reason that requires an investigation beyond viewing the page, you need to stick around.  I probably have some questions for you, and in the event the developer can't answer all questions, you need to fill in the blanks, and if you don't, I'm going to watch television for the rest of the night.

Here's a list of stuff you can report, and stuff that is looked at:

• note posts
• market posts
• job posts
• site posts
• profiles
• messages

You can send a direct message to a moderator for any other content that can't be directly reported.  Forum posts are included here, because there's no way for us to view their reports without an envelope and a lot of stamps.

Remember to take part in the important effort of cleaning up this site.  And don't complain about corruption, etc., because we've been paid off to ignore that.
