speed problems on 7.0.2

My website www.sondeza.com is experiencing serious speed problems lately. Most of the time pages cannot even load unless the server is restarted. Sometimes users get an error message saying that a particular module does not exist even if that module exists.

This problem started after we got a lot of publicity, our network is now getting just over 14 000 unique visitors per day.

How many concurrent connections can version 7.0.2 take?

Do I need special expensive servers to cater for the 14 000 visitors? At the moment our processor is 4ghz with 8GB ram

My isp thinks that the issue could be caused by a dos attack(ip flooding). They've blocked the flooding ip's that that does not help the situation. Any ideas on what I need to do to speed up the website?

Rgds,

T

Thank you, my hosting provider says that all the recommendations have been implemented already. The only item that still needs to be done is adding eaccelerator instead of zend optimizer. I'll let you know how it goes.

4ghz/8gb RAM dedicated server + Dolphin with you set of features should take 14K uniques easily. Your site may be a little heavier due to video streaming, so that is where you might need to take a closer look.

I'd recommend upgrading to 7.0.3 as soon as it comes out (likely this week), and if it still goes slow, send a message to me (uno@boonex.com) and we'll have a closer look.

Thank you, I'll upgrade as soon as 7.0.3 is released.

The speed has improved the problems now is that the MySql server fails at least three times a day since the upgrade. Our hosting provider is monitoring the issue.
