Cron advice needed

Hi,

My hosting site doen't support cron jobs. I've looked at other ways ei. third party cron site, running the job from my computer. These are all options, but I notied that running the cron job from a 3rd party still doesn't send the info to my email account. These are in cron install setting, since I can't use cron on my site I used a 3rd party and set the jobs http://live.com/periodic/blah blah blah.

The question is when does MAILTO=info@live.com come into play if I'm not informing the job about this mail address and how would one make this happen.

** Actually if anyone knows of a user friendly third party site that runs cron jobs the way Dolphin creates the script I'd like to know about it

As a matter of fact a few of us could possibly come together and create this as a service for beginners such as myself; hell I never heard of cron until now (lol) but for now I'd like to just get my site up, any input would be appriciated.  I've installed everything and my site is functional but without the script I'm floating in a pond instead of rushing through the rapids.

My Dolphin Cron Install Script

Hey Kemosabe, Cron jobs are a pretty common for a host to have. If your current host doesn't have them, you might want to also check that they meet all the other requirements for your Dolphin site, otherwise, you are going to have a lot of problems and spend a lot of time trying to figure them when the issue itself might be your host...This is what happened to me..Just a thought..

That's a basic function of a web host. If they don't support it.....Consider a new host. And to back up mickyb's statement a little more, there is no telling what else they won't support and what kind of obstacles you will run into in the future.
