![]() | Hello! No it means you should place file from upgrade folder like ray/modules/chat/app/user.swf to the same place in your Dolphin site's directory: dolphin folder/ray/modules/chat/app/user.swf Regards | ![]() |

![]() | Thanks a lot for your help LeonidS but I am afraid that I am still a little confused. I have spent a lot of time tweaking the site and need to be as thorough as possible to avoid messing it up. For the benefit of inexperienced people such as myself and others starting out, would it be possible to go into a little more detail. To clarify the way I understand it, take browse.php for example. There is the original 6.1 version in my dolphin directory and now I have the 6.1.1 patch version of browse.php 6.1.1. It would seem that the logical thing to do would be to simply cut and paste all of the new code into this file over the old code or to upload the new patched file into exactly the same place and then delete the old pre-patch file. Would this work? It is this part of the instructions (step 2) that i find confusing, ''accordingly to their location in the script.'' The way I understand this, is that the lines that differ between the old code and the new code need to be sought out and changed one by one by using the Dolphin 6.1.0 to 6.1.1 Diff file. Maybe it is much more simply than I think, but I really need to get it right because I bought the ad-free license and if it need to reinstall it, then will need to purchase the license again. I really appreciate any help you could give. Cheers, Nick | ![]() |

![]() | Dude, Before you even atempt to upgrade. First download a backup from your host control panel. Second download the database mysql from your host control panel or phpmyadmin. These are a must. Do not even think about upgrading without doing so first. If you have not manually tweaked, altered, removed, adjusted or whatever you want to call it actual code of the script, then simply overwrite the 6.1.0 files on your server with the 6.1.1 patch. Follow the instructions, to run upgrade. They do leave out the part that you need to delete upgrade.php and the upgrade.sql file when done. Do not run upgrade.php 2x, or it will mess up your database. If when you say you have a spend a lot of time tweaking...hoping you are referring to your site...jk. Anyway if you have modified, altered, added removed certain code associated with downloaded mods from expertzzz or your own, then yes you will need to manually copy/paste, cut/paste the differences from the patch files to the ones on your site. This is a real time consuming process. If you don't have any mods then overwrite. Sometimes it's actually faster to over write and re-do the tweaks. Depends on how many and what the situation is. If you don't have many mods or customizations consider yourself very lucky. | ![]() |

![]() | Haha, I have been keeping the tweaking confined to the keyboard for the time being. Thanks for the long post - helpful! Did the MySQL stuff you said and because I haven't modified anything, can overwrite the files directly using FTP. Still can' t quite understand why cutting and pasting the code from the patch files directly to the edit file view on my server wouldn't work or would it do the same thing? nick | ![]() |
