![]() | once you got zoneedit and you got all the dns setup then all you would do is webforward ur site.com to ur ip 100.99.88.77::5000 (5000 replaces port 80)...thats basically it ! | ![]() |

![]() | Heyyyy, Technoman, OMG! I can't believe how much effort you have put into this for others to have an easier time of it. At any rate, I am trying it myself now with an enormous help from another friend, who is like you and knows what he is doing. But it was his opinion that we really don't need MySQL to access the internet in this program as this may be a security breach that would allow others to have acesss to files or other things we would not want them to have access to if the sever is "listening" via MySQL to the internet . This he said was opposed to us wanting and needing to have Apache listen to the internet so people can visit the site and join etc. Techno, I kid you not, dude...I understood what my friend Bill meant by this for all of 3 minutes then that understanding went off into the ethers of the universe. So I'm not even sure if I am explaining correctly now the problem he said this might create. Look, we both know this is your expertise, I am only the class clown...let me know what you think, man, or if this is a non issue. All my love and kisses, LOL, Tom ;-) AWWW, FUCK IT, PEOPLE! I'M OUTTA CUTE SLOGANS FOR THE NITE....JUST DISARM THE EARTH...YESTERDAY! | ![]() |

![]() | MySQL! im now using Wampserver instead of xamp and vertrigoo on a windows xp pro system instead of my linux Debian Os. if you set Xamp or Wampserver or any other server software then you can password the Mysql directory and even config the MSQL ini file to make it even more secure, but like me you will have to do a bit of reading from the supplyer of the software because its to much for me to type here, and i don't wonna get kicked from unity for spaming, cus this is a boonex comunity and not a Xamp or what ever, any way after about a few hours of reading i got mine secured ok | ![]() |

![]() | Well It depends on everything If your hosting it from a home computer behind a router then your alot more safer since you dont show to outsiders your actual internal IP so depends on alot fo of things ! Make sure TELNET PORT is blocked cause thats a LoopHole where hackers can ping you ! | ![]() |
