Dolphin 6.1RC + Ray 3.5RC Combo!

Getting closer to the release stage! It's amazing how much progress each pre-release version makes, and, today, we show you the Mighty, the Incredible and the Super... Pages Builder! Not like we didn't have one, but now it's a lot more powerful and it actually changes the overall Dolphin experience.

Pages Builder

Now, you're not limited to just two site width options. Instead, you can set any width for your site or individual page types. And, it can be anything from the mere 760px up to stretchy 100% width! And, you do it with Dolphin style!

On top of that - you can now create your own pages! (should I have added more exclamation marks in this post?) Read it again. And again. And now.. once again :) Create your own pages and launch them within your Dolphin-based community adding all the blocks you see in standard pages builders. When you think about it - it's a huge starting point for an imagination workout... How about, say, adding a small Amazon-powered mini-store with RSS from one of your forum threads, news-line and a custom block with a little bit of your talented marketing ~~blurb~~ text. Sounds cool!

Now the builder gives you really tight control over page columns, properly warning you when you narrow things down a bit too aggressively. And don't forget that all changes are instant (albeit there's a "Restore" link for overly-too-joyful souls) and what you see is what your members get ;)

New Comments

.. in other words - GREAT new comments. Now it has the totally coolest comments system available in any community script out there. With multi-step nesting, voting, delayed editing and deleting, all AJAXish and sleeeeek! Don't underestimate comments - this is where 50% of the community life goes. And now they're better than ever.

And...

We almost always have that "and...". Now it's a new homepage promo, which is now not Flash-based, but a JS-based script that lets you load large pictures, resizes them according to your homepage width and rotates them smoothly. No more problems with squeezing your lengthy "Aloha" into the message box. Just prepare a set of nice images - and enjoy the party.

Oh, and tags are now SEO-friendly. And a bunch of bugs have been kissed a sweet goodbye.

	This looks great! And I am going to update as soon as I get to my computer. I logged into the admin demo to see and I noticed that you still cant update the fields when you update the profile. Like for example. Lets say I dont want the "Looking For" Field. I cant find a way to remove it or change it. And it shows up in both admin and on the user under my settings.

	Wow !!! Thank you for this nice work :-) To reach the perfection, the page builders just need to allow the horizontal division of any page in parts which will be able to contain a different number of columns ;-)

	Great work Boonex!! This release provides much more control and power to admin part. Comment system is cool. The features which i personally think should have been added to this version are Scrapbook and albums in profile photos...they are one of the most used features in networking sites... Anywayz...great work guyz...thumbs up !!!

	First of all i want to say how amazing is this new dolphin. I only will say team well done! Some small things i saw till now: 1. Again with orca :( After creating a new group i am trying to make the first post as owner (from the button post topic (that in the purple up box) and i am getting: Orca :: Interactive Forum Script Access denied. You must have special permissions to access this area or you are not logged in. 2. From the admin when i want to create (add) a profile---> i am geting Profile not specified (in pedit.php page). ... thats for now --> i 'll be back :) Team you are the best :)

	Unfortunately, what is not so good is the old sprachfiles no longer import, this should be a possibility, which the user can create their own languagefiles. At least it should be possible to the dual languages to be able to use without the whole sql needs to be changed. Continue to be here as an add-free version offered (without advertising)

	Wow, the page builder is amazing! Still has some bugs when trying to place new boxes, but overall a great advance! Also the tinyMCE integration has some bugs. But what is desperately needed is the ability to upload files in Orca and groups and the ability to get notified on new Orca, Blog and homepage posts. Of course also an option for complete privacy, i.e. turning off all notifications and mails

	Is there a way when you resize the profile in builder to have the profile picture, resize with it? Because if you change the size of the column smaller underneath, (would be great for horizontal sizing too, or a way to divide the columns horizontally into mini multiple columns) the profile picture the photo get cuts off. Right now I think it just stays the same size.

	Please, please, please. THe most important futures in the videos and audio seccions are the Categories. It will be very, very nice if these fuctions are included. This will help many visitors to view videos of a particular category rather than serching the whole list. Category are at must. with this futures added Dolphin will be one of the best sotwares available.

	I am having a problem with uploads video or music. The problem is with non latin characters in file title field, tags and description. As you can see in these pictures there are coming with funny characters: 1. http://www.mikroentypo.gr/ray-video1.jpg 2. http://www.mikroentypo.gr/ray-video2.jpg I had asked in the past for your help and you had make a correction in my ray/modules/movie/inc/actions.inc.php in case 'initFile': ... this is solving the characters problem, and i am having Greek finally, but i believe this is creating problems and i have problem when i want to upload big files. I have as result to have only 3 temp files in the ray/modules/movie/files directory. I mean it cannot rename the files.... to final mpg flv and the 2 jpg's Please if you find any time, have a look to this :)

	The 28.04 for final release is not far away when the info is right! Please dont put new features in Dolphin there it is enough now. Every demo brings new bugs and more bugs. Delete them all bring the final and than make updates with new features. One after the other and it will be the best community software. But in this way nobody can use it.Respect and good luck!

	Many improvements on 6.1. Great job. Is Orca 2.0 going to be integrated into Dolphin? Also, it looks like the user voting is still tracked by ip addresses. It would be better to track by user id instead so the system knows what each user voted.

	Well not many bugs on my end except the chat keeps loading but never loads.Would it be possible to add a close link for member login pop up as some users wouldnt know how to close it also is it possible to add a link on im to go back to standard size rather than having users to click esc?Anyway great work and this version contains more than enough features for now :)
