boonex told us that after this beta it will be RC version... and now its show beta8....

im totally disapointed... it cost me over 100$ per month fo my dedicated server... and i still wait for the rc version to launch my website... i fed up to pay my server for nothing... the final version was supposed to be ready many month ago...

How about giving us an upgrade script from this beta to the first release candidate. Wouldn't that be a nice present to give your long suffering members.

OR will I have to install a new fresh RC FINAL version ?

I am pretty sure once RC1 is out,a lot more people will deploy this into their local environments and find lot of more issues that would help the product become more stable and rock solid.

Nice but not too nice.. Every day I lose enthusiasm to make a project with Dolphin.. I hope I will not finish all of it before RC1 is out..

Is it possible to *completely* disable the "dating" content and elements within the platform? This is particularly important to sites that do not feature such type of content.

Thank god 8 out of 10 bugs only concers CSS defects, that can be fixed overnight! Hope Boonex does it's best to relase an RC in a week!

What confuses me is this, we have a beta 8 on its way now, and already there are 12 bugs to be fixed. Why aren't these bugs spotted before the release of the Beta. seems to be that the beta releases aren't getting tested enough before they are released, if they were then there wouldn't be a need for all these beta's in the first place.
Just seems an odd way to go about things really.

Wait - there is something I don't get. I see in the modules now you have a data migration tool for D6 - that's fantastic - I can't wait to try it! Since there will be no upgrade script to the RC though - or for that matter the next beta (Trac has references to still another beta) then what good is it? So we can import our D6 sites and then just destroy them up later? I think it is time for Boonex to start lending some support to the upgrades from beta to beta. We need to move forward after each beta, not retreat and be forced to blow up our bridges each time.

HI.........as per the demo of the Net Beta i think its a better one than the previous version. Best of Luck ........ but plz do release the final version asap.

One thing more that is required in the site is open inviter. It is must for the network coz all social networking site are providing this. but in dolphin it is not available.

The dolphin is suffisament stable to make a RC version I does not understand(include) those for whom we still wait. It has been since September, 2008 since we keep us waiting, and openly(frankly) I find now that it is the moment. You can malgrès improve everything the RC version regularly

Словно разработчики выпускают свой продукт не для пользователей, а для собственного экперимента! Такая ситуация уже более 3-х лет продолжается! Засим невозможно просто на Дельфине построить уж сколько нибудь серьезный сайт, обратите внимание :(((

So...based on the 2008 news that 7 would be available soon, I stopped most work on my site, and anticipated having it live for opening day in March 2009. (I run a baseball chat site).

Well, here we are in the playoffs, and still no 7. Like the software, but hate the process.

In your last few posts about these betas you have said "test, test, test" - but why? What is in it for us? With that new "data conversion" module (which I applaud by the way) members who just kick back and do nothing will be in the exact same position as those of us who are working our asses off trying to work with the beta. As I understand it, when the RC is ready they will just have to press a button and most of their D6 will be converted. The rest of us have wasted a ton of time, and maybe even have been a little foolish.

It is a HUGE amount of work just to set this up. There are profile fields to build (four different sets), pages to format, settings, membership levels, payment options, several sets of categories to define, email templates, forums and groups to set up, language keys to define and much, much more- all that just for a basic set-up. It is FAR too time consuming and demoralizing to do all this work just to have to destroy it again after each of these betas. I've said this before, but the quality of your testing is falling off rapidly - people aren't getting far enough before it is time to trash everything they have done and start over again. This is not to your advantage at all - you are essentially destroying your test sets every few weeks.

In most of your posts you tell us to discuss this on the forums, not here - but Boonex almost never participates in the forums, as you do here. In fact, the only thing that seems to get a response from Boonex these days is the most inflammatory blog posts - especially ones that attack Boonex. Requests that are made politely are usually ignored. As a result, Trac has become totally dysfunctional - critical issues identified in the forums never make it there. With a few exceptions, most of the members who have access to Trac are using it just to post new features they want - the rest of us have to beg, and the product is suffering as a result. One member on the forum even says the only way to get something into trac is to keep bumping the post repeatedly because he thinks Boonex will only add things to Trac that they see on the top of the forum repeatedly.

This obviously isn't working - for any of us. If you are going to use your member base as your testing staff like this, then you should give them some advantage for doing this work - right now there is none at all. I have already found two major bugs in the join form - which I consider to be the most critical part of the system. I was tempted to make one of those inflammatory posts that seem to work so well, but I think that has to stop. Since that function absolutely has to work I can't see how it makes any sense to go on building and testing a system I know I will just have to destroy. Please go read the posts in the beta forum - you will find a seriously bummed out user community.

We need to get back to a place of mutual respect and we really need your help on this upgrade issue. If it is impossible to develop an upgrade script from this version please tell us why - and if possible, help develop an upgrade "procedure" instead. If that is also impossible for some reason, then please tell us the exact date of the RC. We don't have the most basic kinds of information we need for business decisions - and sometimes we get misinformation. If the RC is released in a week- as many here are requesting, or even two, why should anyone bother testing at all?

Please consider helping us in some way with the upgrade from this beta to the next beta or RC. I think almost everyone is on the same page here. These delays have been extremely damaging and we desperately need to start making some forward progress.

hey guys Im sick of that complains about all betas. Im personally very happy that boonex seems to change approach - previous versions has been always released full of bugs now boonex guys seems to really care to release most stable version ever and you all complains ? what is this about ? Just be patient and you will get best dolphin version ever released. Its normal that robust system like dolphin is need a lot of time to tuneup. There will be always small bugs as in other software - is windows withpout bugs ? nope... but less main bugs we will have in final version = better for us all. If somebody of you bought dedicated hosting when first beta was released and now you are pissed off that u are paying hosting for nothing - its your problem. I expected at least 6 months of tuning so I gonna buy hosting when final version will be released. Give boonex guys a break and let them finish without stress so they can concentrate on work and not your stupid complains..

I am a user of your product Dolphin 6, and am having some challenges due to how not user friendly the application is.
I have toured this new product Dolphin 7 beta 7, with a few simple modification this one will serve as a better community website.

Modifications;
1. Some unnecessary compulsory field should be removed from Join Now for easy sign up (people are not that patient enough).
2. People should be able to make friends easily (Suggest friend pop-ups)
3.Content upload - Unnecessary compulsory field should be scraped off for easy upload

I want to buy a more user friendly application like Dolphin 7 beta 7, Buddypress etc as soon as possible.
Can I know when the finished Dolphin 7 will be available for use considering the fact that I have very limited time to complete my project.

I am installing the Beta 7 and have found out that the new version now requires enabling the "shell_exec" function before installation. If you have your site at a third party hosting, this function usually can be enabled by the hosting tech support.

i dont think since i remember, boonex has ever had a stable release.... I mean why would they? if they had a stable release then why even come to this forum after. they need people to keep on coming back over and over again.. But i guess theres always hope.. We cant ever fully launch a site because we been waiting for a full stable product.. and we cant keep investing money on experts if the script is always changing and mods are bieng outdated constantly.. so please boonex give us a stable realese, at least to the people that been waiting since the boonex 5 release. And then go back to the betas

1. is there anyway to run D7 on a shared hosting and RMS on a vps or do they have to be on the same server?

2. Will there be a source for the ray video,chat,music, etc . . . . modules to customize not only the skins but full customization for example makeing the webcam window larget in messenger or writing a javascript to open chat private messages in a new pop up. --- stuff like that
