Night life is a special part of life in every corner of the world. Milan is not an exception. Music, dancing, drinks and acquaintanceship are the company of every night in a club. Here is a biker. One of his hobbies is a photograph of Milan's night life. It started out in 2004 as a proposal from a new friend-biker who was working as a DJ in his favorite night club. With time it grew into a website - Freedrink.net - a place which Paolo Amore, 35-year old famous photographer of the nightlife in Milan, used to show pictures he made in clubs.

Freedrink beginning

Even though he can make up to 300 pictures a night and meet this many new people, Paolo prefers to view pictures made by others. It is these two passions, united together, that he was looking to realize in his project.

"I have had a really good time shooting pictures in discos, but I wanted more. I have had many ideas that I wanted to develop," he notes.

As a result, he added a forum to his site and developed the first design.

"I made the website by myself at the beginning, and it was not very good looking. I'm a graphic advertiser, but I've never studied web graphics and design. So my first design was poor," he adds.

Dolphin

After three years he decided to turn his site into a real community. This is when he met Dolphin by BoonEx for the first time. The software allowed him to customize his site to his needs. Features like photo uploading, pics rating, blogs and others brought new life into Freedrink.net.

"I like to shoot pictures in the clubs, but I prefer it when people upload pictures by themselves. I like it when they interact on the site. I like to see something always moving and changing on my homepage, because it means that new people still come and comment on pictures, rate, write on blogs and forums. It's a very good thing." says Paolo.

Wide functionality options were what made Paolo stop at Dolphin.

Currently, his site hosts 1310 members with 40 new users joining every week bringing 100 to 3/400 visits and from 7/800 to over 3000 page views per day. Its design is very unique and fancy. Its functionality is different from the default version. Using expertzzz.com services he was able to modify the default version completely.

"I think it is the most modified Dolphin on the web!" comments Paolo.
Now his site is complete and fully operational.

Paolo is a single owner and developer of Freedrink.net. His only plan for the site is to add an English version (currently the site is available in Italian only).

"My mission is to meet new people, I like it when people meet each other on Freedrink.net, and finally, I'm very happy when someone finds love on my website," adds Paolo.

Interview

Tell us more about yourself and your team. What do you do? Tell us about the history of your team coming together. What are you good at? Provide us with any information that can introduce you in the best possible way. What did you use before, and how did your idea come to mind?

I am the only owner of my website, and at the beginning there was a friend working for me but he was too slow, so I decided to learn everything I needed to know to do it by myself.

My website Freedrink.net was born in 2004 September. I was a biker and met another one who was the DJ of my favorite disco club. We became friends, and I started to work with him in that disco club as a photographer. I've had a really good time shooting pictures in the disco, but I wanted more, I've had many ideas that I wanted to develop so I decided to open a website by myself. That is the beginning of Freedrink.net: a website to show the pictures that I do in disco.
Then, I added a forum to get to know users and to let them meet each other. I made the website by myself at the beginning, and it was not very good looking. I'm a graphic advertiser but I've never studied web graphics and design. So my first design was poor!

After 3 years I became a famous photographer of the nightlife in Milan (Italy), so I decided to switch my website into a real community, and that is when I found Dolphin by Boonex. On September 2007 I started to use dolphin and I'm in love with it :-) At the beginning, I had a lot of problems, but now, I think it is the most modified dolphin on the web! I bought mods of all kinds, and now I think it is very good looking and very nice to use, it is complete.

Currently, what is the status of your project?

The number of visits to my site depends on how many pictures I shoot in the night: everybody comes to see and download pictures, they want to see their friends, sometimes people find their lovers with another :), they like to send their picture in homepage and in this way I have new users everyday. I have about 40 new users every week at the moment: remember that my website is only in Italian at the moment and is advertised only in my city. When a user subscribes on my website and finds some information about all the disco clubs in my city: they can call me on the telephone and book their party in their favorite disco club with discounts, a free pass and obviously free drinks! Usually, the site has from 100 to 3/400 visits per day and from 7/800 to over 3000 page visits per day.

Why Dolphin?

Dolphin, why dolphin? Because I found it and I saw some other websites running on it. I tried the Demo (very important) and downloaded for FREE (most important). After this, I used it for some time and then decided to buy licenses. At the moment, I think I have spent about 1500 USD maybe it's too much, but it's no problem, I think. When you have a good product people like it and use it. This is not my first job, it is just a passion: a passion for Photography and a passion for Girls!

What did you change in the default version?

I can't remember every mod I have installed, maybe ALL! Then I have made some other mods just for my website, thanks to many experts from Expertzzz.com. The last change will implement the website with an English translation. Coming soon.

What are your expectations?

Actually I have no mission, no program for the future. I just love to meet new people every time I go out and every night I spend in a disco club. In one night I take about 280 pictures. You can imagine how many girls I know in one year!!! So, my mission is to meet and know people. I like it when people meet each other on FREEDRINK.net, and finally I'm very happy when someone finds LOVE on my website (sex and fame is just enough for me! love in the next life! :-) So, finally, I don't know about the future. My next and last step is to add the English translation, and I will say WELCOME to everybody all around the world. I really hope and believe that one day FREEDRINK.net will be more known than FACEBOOK! :-)...that's for sure!!!!
