How do I remove the Quick Search box from the front page?

Go to Builders -> Pages Builder in Admin Panel

Choose Homepage

Remove blocks there

6.1x as hd4real said just drag them down to the inactive area. In 6.0.x if you click the center of the block you will have the option to hide the view from guests and/or members. In 6.0.x better to hide it than remove it in case you want to re-enable later with a quick check box and save.

When I use Pages Builder and choose the Home page the Active and Inactive areas appear, but are empty.
I can add and remove columns, but no blocks appear.

Sounds like it's something to do with my install.... Any ideas?

No, you should for example drag the block "Quick Search" to the empty "Inactive" space

This has nothing to do with columns. Try dragging a block to the empty inactive space

It seems to be a problem with Internet Explorer.
I just tried in FireFox and can now see the blocks to drag.
