How do you add custom blocks?

Before on 6.0.5 you could add custom blocks to your homepage, but I haven't been able to get it to work for 6.1

I can see that there is a "HTML Block", but when I try and save something there, it never saves the code.

What is the best way to add custom blocks?

Oh wait, just use Firefox and it seems to work...

I found anything in the admin section needs foxfire. Sometimes it works in IE, other times...nada.

firefox works great.. sometimes people forget to press "SAVE"...
