How to Fix Orca html showing up

ok 2 ways...edit custom apache file ask host

where...
if you have access edit files: /etc/php.d
there are xslt and dom.ini files edit those to make them active.
save upload
restart server... /etc/init.d/httpd restart or from your back office there may be a restart button

or compile php5
--with-dom=/usr/lib
--with-dom-exslt=/usr/lib
--with-dom-xslt=/usr/lib

last line of the file, then there is no

trailing backslash added.

root in...and do 2 lines
# ./build clean
# ./build php n

OR install libraries manually remove all

traces of simplexml

at the very least you can show your host this and he'll think you know exactly whats going on and do it for you to show you up! heh

Once it goes in and the restart happens and you can finally see Orca you have to get to Orca from the admin panel. Click "EN" to compile the language. That will remove the [L] everywhere. I had to logout login and go in from the front page till it really compiled due to cookies and cache but if you hit it long enough it will say successful. Maybe a better way would be to say Clear Cache before you do things like this....many people say its broken still lol...remember those days james & xing?

Have fun and dont break anything if you get stuck please contact me and I can usually get it done in an hour

mrpowless,
the way i got the source to go away from the orca was to drop the php4 handler in the .htaccess, 6.1 will run on php5 and dont need that line on the htaccess. as for the en compiling, i have hit that thing ten thousand times, and have gotten nowhere. annoying as all get out to me. it shouldnt be that difficult to compile that language. its not just in orca, its also the same from the groups/orca, and frankly i didnt see where there was an option to compile the language for that, unless it is in fact calling up the language from /orca. at any rate, i am still working on it, might just do a fresh install this evening and see if some of the stuff i have done, hasnt just got it so wacked out that it cant compile.

later,
DosDawg

I know this is off topic, however didn't see any other refs. to this problem. When I access the forum, I see this..

[L[Latest Post]] and [L[Forums Spy]] and
RonJo [L[said in]] Tech Tips and [L[Latest Post]] and on the forumspy time stamp, 42 [L[Minutes Ago]]

Its weird since everything else is working fine. Could this be a DB issue?
Thanks...

PD

it takes a while! I couldnt even get it for about half an hour! If it threw errors, we could get to the root of it, but since it doesn't theres no real way of finding i out. I just hit it from every angle, every browser till it finally said compiled. Three sites compiled no problem. They had no traces of "simple xml reader" in php info and DOM and XSLT tested out positive. There are docs out there that give you test scripts. If you just cant get it please pm one of us pundits, we do this daily so we can find out what it is in 20 seconds.

I've tried and can't access the etc file, and have never done compiling so that's jibberish to me. (Total Noob!)

Any of you have a step-by-step on the where's and how's?

Did a fresh install of 6.1.

Almost same problem here...firstly it showed junk html code, and now it shows me the following message!
XML Parsing Error: junk after document element
Location: http://www.xaarf.com/orca/
Line Number 2, Column 1:<b>Warning</b>: file_get_contents() [<a href='function.file-get-contents'>function.file-get-contents</a>]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in <b>/home2/xaarfco/public_html/orca/classes/Admin.php(42) : eval()'d code</b> on line <b>10</b><br />
^
Please advise!
