I think we need more moderators

It's tough because these spammers come at any time of the day... What dum ass ppl..if you don't market correctly, you are just wasting your time, but I guess these spammers are rookies..

Yeah... that's why I think we need some more moderators in different time zones. These spmmers are always hit and run, but these posts have lasted about an hour longer than they should have.

I'd volunteer to do some moderating duties... just to clean up obvious garbage posts. I have no desire to be a judge of any content beyond the obvious spam posts though.

There is also a way for boonex to help out with this issue. All they have to do is filter adult content words on "Headline Subject" and spammers will be reduced..I own adult websites and disagree with spammers like these. I don't post my sites on any non adult related sites as I respect opinion of others..These spammers don't seem to care, but what is great about it is that they waste time which they will never recover..

I agree. Just yesterday, while I was waiting to see some hint on the v7 update I came across some posts and thought "I´d like to become a moderator here", but then I checked how to become one and saw that you need to climb a status ladder and Moderators are almost on the top. So, I just felt sorry for the site...
I volunteer for the same Houston is volunteering. If Boonex and this community feels better if we´re not called Moderators, that´s fine with me. How about "trashmen"!!! I´m willing to put on the suit right away!
Just allow us to delete spam.
I´m in Spain, by the way (8-10 hours behind Australia, depending on the season, 6 and 9 ahead of New York and Los Angeles).

Seems we were tying at the same time,, any moderators added would be great,, and anyone who volunteers is an "A" plus, this would help everyone in the community..(Thumbs-Up)..

Hey HernanL, I know what you mean and like everything in life, it's all based on status, maybe Boonex will see that there are other ppl with lower status that are willing to help, like yourself and Houston which are volunteering their time to help the community more, but I guess there is really nothing that can be done.....I always appreciate everyone's help no matter if they are Mods or first day on the site...

Exactly - it's FF day - everyone's coding, testing, writing.

We'll be adding auto filter for this kind of things when we switch to D7 at Boonex.com. Another idea is to introduce a small/nominal "activation fee", of like $3-5 to make sure spammers don't create dozens of fake profiles. With activation fee one would be able to post content, while access to licenses would remain free without the fee. Just an idea.

I don't you'd get legitimate members to pay a $3 activation fee... they'd be complaining in an instant.

I don't remember.... is email verification required to activate new accounts here?

Its a good idea to charge activation fee to reply or post in any area.

New Unity members can read everything but cant post, reply or send PM. I received lots of SPAM msgs from lovegirls and always report as spam.

I think it might be better to allow those of us who want to get our hands on the trash to do that instead of charging any amount for joining in.

Plus, place a little, colorful icon beside the member nickname that will identify her/him as a "trashman/woman"!!! and everybody will be happy!!

I get every week spam mail in my box, and report them as scammers, because its scamming from yahoo accounts.

The moderators here are more concerned about censorship - rather than the mundane work of cleaning up posts that actually need to be cleaned up. This is especially true of Dwain, who censors posts simply because he does not like them, and who otherwise has never contributed a thing here. Unfortunately some people don't know the difference between censorship and moderation.

Well according to another blog post yesterday, we have 22 moderators on here, I never knew that, i thought we only had 3 (DD,james,dwain) could do with some from other time zones people have a field day (run free) when you lot are in bed.
