Install and upgrade; patch vs fresh

Having completed a couple of installs with Dolphin v6.1.1 and being nervous to use the patches on one of the LIVE sites, I opted to try a FRESH, CLEAN or NEW install (however you want to label it) for another site.

I downloaded the latest complete zipped version (at the time) of Dolphin v 6.1.3; the patch v 6.1.4 came on the day I was to install and I added that after the initial error detailed below.

After install there was a "language compiling" error, which stated that it failed. Also when in Admin and clicking on Modules, Orca...it went to a directory tree and to get to the place where you can compile the languages, I had to click on the index.php link.

After several days of frustration with this, I decided to delete V6.1.3 from server and to re-install V6.1.1 and perform each patch upgrade.

Yes, it was quite a few steps to perform and patience.

BUT, after completing all upgrades...the site is now running error free (on the surface). And the language compile error never occured.

FYI: It appears that something was left out of the V6.1.3 zip.

Yes I also now use a php file created by a very cool dude...Heath.

It changes the permissions automatically....I think that the download for this is at

www.christianatlanta.com/automatesettingpermissions-dolphin.zip

What a godsend....no pun intended.
