Need ideas on how to setup Dev Staying for Dolphin?

Can anyone give me some ideas for this? I am in the process of building a new Dolphin community and was wondering what was the best way to set up a dev staging area so I can work with mod developers on my site and test and make additional changes before moving them to the production area. So for example: www.mysite.com  and www.mysite.com /dev or dev.mysite.com Now I thought about just installing Dolphin twice but then I was also wondering how the license would work if I did that.  For example ads vs non ads on the license production version.  In addition to this I would like to be able to role patches and upgrades to the dev site work with mod developer and test myself before moving them to production. In addition, I do not want search engine bots to index the dev site and only index the production site. I know I can exclude /dev in the robots.txt file but I am not sure what approach I would take if I want to exclude devmysite.com and still leave the rest of the site open for search bots.

Hey,

Just create a directory after your main directory (example www.yoursite.com/dev), if you wish to install another Dolphin Community, because your site is still on the same domain, just in another location it will still work.

I have emailed BoonEx Support directly with this same question and as long as its after the main directory its fine, subdomains wont work (with licences).
