btw, www.adults-dating.co.uk isnt working & the first one has only 170 members approax.
So, my question as well, do you know of any very SUCCESSFUL Dolphin using sites that are out there?

why dont you go back and ask your source where they got that info and the site that they are quoting as a case?

#1 i dont think they have a site to point to.
#2 if they are using the old dolphin then it might have just been a server resource issue .

#3 Dolphin 6.1 is able to run on a cluster of servers, where before it was only one. so that now allow for more power.

I've personally never seen that happen. But then again I've never seen a Dolphin site with 70,000 members.

Sammie made reference to it already, but can you give us the location of this 70K member Dolphin site that crashes?

But seriously, are you talking 70,000 active concurrent connections? You can have 70,000 members but if only 1 is connected then it'll be fine.

I also figure that if you are hitting those numbers then it's time to talk to bigger players with developers and resources. Think clustering technology.

And now that you've mentioned it, I would like to know the location of this "very very reliable forum on the internet" that you are basing your info on.

In terms of success, my site www.boonexnerd.com has met and exceeded my personal expectations within a few months. Through the site I've met up with some great and talented people. It really is a community app. Right now, I am over 900 members and I am on the lowest hosting package available. After 1000 maybe I will celebrate with a VPS.

We have deployed and designed sites with well over 10 and 20K users with out any problems.

As Jtadeo states, it more so depends on concurrent connections, and with Clustering now available, which we switched all our servers too, makes larger sites more usable and scalable.

I checked out the gayguychat site, and its hard to tell what is what, as most of it isnt functioning, so who knows...
