if its the rotating banner you mean that is done in basic settings in the promo block big01.jpg,big03.jpg, big02.jpg, big04.jpg delete these but then it will leave a big space where they were just add couple of your own banners.

It is the images with the hands and the Dolphins and the text that says, Welcome to the community.

well i said how to remove the rotating banners but the welcome text is a seperate swf file that needs to be uploaded to replace the old one

You can change the welcome text in the swf promo by editing the corresponding language key.

And you can get completely rid of te whole welcome block by configuring the static html in the admin panel, basic settings.
