Upload music file

As long as I'm using Dolphin I haven't succeeded in uploading a music file to the gallery nor my profile with IE latest version.

Meanwhile I bought a laptop with Vista and latest internet explorer and still I can't manage to upload a music file.

It uploads, says it is 'approved' but I can't play the file.

I changed the settings in admin panel in the Ray plugins but no result.

In 'my profile' the file I uploaded doesn't show.

On the homepage it doesn't show in site stats and in the admin panel it doesn't show in the dashboard.

But it DOES exist in the database.

Can someone please advise me what could be wrong ?

You can contact me there through the only existing profile :-)

I don't know why but I haven't been able to upload music files on even any of the Boonex sites I am on. The loading circle just goes round and round forever and when I click on "browse" to search my files to enter a music file...nothing happens as well.

Still haven't found a solution. It works with other browsers, but not with my internet explorer.

I think it must have something to do with internet explore settings, but I can't figure out which ones.

Hi Everyone,

I installed 6.1 now and again, error uploading music files.

It uploads, but then says : PENDING

And the circle keeps spinning forever ... pending.

The file is in my database, so it uploaded correctly, but I can't play it :-(

new URL of my site : www.onderweg.be/index.php

(it's important to add the "index.php" because I used an index.html to leave a message to my members)

There IS some progress.

I uploaded an MP3 file in both profile music and music gallery.

Now it says 'APPROVED' but I still can't play it.

In my database it is stored in RAY/MODULES/MUSIC/FILES/1_TMP

Folder 1_TMP being a BINARY FILE

When I download that file from my server on my PC, I can play that file without any problem.

When I try to upload a second MP3 file, it is NOT being stored in the database.

So everything stops after that first one which I can't play :-(((((((((

if it's there but you cannot play it then make sure to chmod the mp3 file to 777 as most likely it can not execute. The upload file permission is set by the script but can probably not be set to 777.
If you can - with ftp - try to set on the folder chmod 777 and "files inherit properties" or ask your hoster to do this.

I had the same issue with the 6.000000000000000000000000000000000000000005 script lol for 000

I did CMOD the MP3 file and the Music file, but that doesn't give a solution.

My MP3 uploads as a binary file in TEMP_1

I'll ask HostForWeb but most likely it isn't that because Boonex is also hosted there.

This might be a stupid question, but why are some files stored in MP3 and others in MUSIC ?

when i look in my structure, MP3 and MUSIC are for gallery/personal profiles I believe.

TEMP_1 is not good.
it should be /public_html/ray/modules/music/files/1.mp3
it makes a temp file usually if it can not store/write the file on the server. I'd make sure the chmod and ownership/group are correct to begin with.
also the dolphinscript is responsible for setting the uploads and permissions correctly, to me there seem to be a lot of issues with this (6.1) script.

Yes, but this file has been uploaded by another user, maybe in some other browser.

Try to upload an MP3 yourself. I would like to know if you succeed.

If I upload an MP3, it is stored as binary file f.e. TEMP_07

There ARE a lot of issus? Whenever I try to change something in the navigation menu builder f.e. deselect the option VIDEO in the menu, some language strings seem to disappear from my database and are replaced by f.e. _LOGIN, _FORUM POSTS, etc.

What's even stranger, I can't locate these strange anymore in the database ...

annabel, i got the same problem with you. I'm using Dolphin 6.1.1. Only got problem when uploading music files (mp3) but it works brilliantly when comes to videos. I'm still finding the solution for it.

First it said pending. then i find solution that must be set auto approved at ray base setting. now it status is approve, but still when browse, it says no file where found.
