![]() | Hey TotallyFreak, What encoding method did you use when setting up your MySQL database? Try logging into PHPMYADMIN and changing the collation to UTF-8. Hope this helps. | ![]() |

![]() | I found that if you add " -- " in front of those things that won't execute it works...but i'm checking now to see if this is just a mysql 4.0 error or is it across the 4.0 and 5.0 mysql thing | ![]() |

![]() | yeah I just found that it happens even if you are running 5.0 on certain servers. Boonex wants everyone to use the server that they are speaking of but unfortunately to get a package similar to the ones 1and1 and other companies are providing you have to pay much more...Unfortunately you will have to do some tweaking with the sql file to make it work with your server that is what I have found...once I get the solution and my site is up and running I will hit yall with the file. I emailed them with the same problem and they gave me the response to use their hosting company, unfortunately I found a better deal with 1and1 who says they support Dolphin. like I said I found that by putting in the two lines in front of those values that aren't working it makes the sql file readable. | ![]() |

![]() | to modify the file go to the "install" directory and open up the sql directory then open the v60.sql file in a text editor. I'm on a mac so I simly use "text editor" once in there you will find that certain items have the double lines -- in front of them...these are the items that are having the issue... | ![]() |

![]() | Dude.. Nucca is right.. your error clearly tells you that your MySQL entries are not encoded correctly. PHPMYADMIN is the way to go. Login you hostng account (example CPanel).. Go to MySQL.. onces in MySQL look towards the bottom and find PHPMYADMIN.. this will take you to all your database and tables.. find the relevant database.. open the tables.. in each field (row) you will find a encoding column (character set).. these will have drop downs with a range of sets... select the UTF-8 unicode for all of them. That should fix it. | ![]() |
