iParents.com is a web community made by parents for parents. It is a social networking place for parents and families to connect with each other. It started in the fall of 2008. This is how the idea came to mind: "I remember the day clearly, I had just finished dropping our 4 year old girl off at preschool. After a few pleasantries with some of the teachers and parents inside, I started to head back to my car. As always, there were two or three groups of parents standing in the parking lot, talking about a multitude of subjects. Playdates, sick kids, Desperate Housewives, pictures from the party the previous weekend. And, just as surely as there were groups talking in the lot, as invariably, those conversations had to end because hectic family life went on. Errands had to be run, appointments met, work to be done, etc." Don Milley, president of iParents.com says the site offers services of forums for sharing advice and support, An Ask the Experts section for getting expert advice from specialists and an Interactive Family Calendar for managing the entire family's schedule. iParents.com, powered by Dolphin community software, is a home to about 1500 parents.
