Have you made any changes to the Uni template, or installed any new templates?

Really? My bad then. They work fine for me in all my browsers. Maybe it has to do with the size of the screen. the arrows don't display if the resolution is too narrow?

OH! LOL! The blue bar I was seeing was my own! Your image is too wide for this forum. I slid it over and I can see you do NOT have the arrows. Sometimes I feel like a nut....  sometimes I are one ...

Her screen shot is showing the entire thing. The right border of the window is in the screen shot. The only thing missing is the arrows.

Anyhow, she is not the only one. I have seen this same issue posted at least one other time in the forum. Just can't remember where at the moment.

See this is what's happening:

I can't click in that balloon box to change my status message

When I type and submit any comments here, it acts like its working but nothing happens.  The form submits but no comments ever show up:

I cannot click on these avatars or the check marks under them to use them:

I can't click on these links in the Ads to manage the categories or anything and when I add an ad in the main site, it never shows up.

I am not imagining these issues.  I have been dealing with them all day.   I've run out of things to try.

Have you made any changes to the Uni template, or installed any new templates?

No absolutely not.  I just discovered Dolphin last night and got it installed this morning. I've been looking at some templates in the Marketplace but I don't know my way around the software enough yet to make any changes to the template yet.

I know this will sound completely stupid but I had a similar issue the other day. No matter what I tried I couldn't get anything to work. In a last ditch effort, I got mad and cold booted my machine. (not recommended) Upon the reboot, everything worked fine again.

Have you gotten mad enough to pull the plug yet?

Pull the plug on the server or my own PC? I have tried it on my laptop as well as my PC.  Are you suggesting I reboot the server or my local workstations?

You did give a hint though. Are you on a network behind a firewall?

hmmm I don't think so, but if I was would the demo on this site work?  It works like it should...mine doesn't. I'm going to go grab some info off of my server...maybe if you all see it you can see something that's wrong.

Good. Because quite a few of those settings are wrong.

You may also find you might have to clear your database and site files and do the reinstall again after everything has been checked and corrected.

Can anyone confirm that the CURRENT downlaod of Dolphin extracts without error?? If it does, please tell me what program you are using to unzip it.

So far I get broken file errors with:

  • WINZIP
  • Cam Unzip
  • WINRAR

So until I get a good set of files, there's no use uploading them again. A few are SWF files which could be a big part of the problem which may be why some of the features wont work.

Please download the version that is there now so there's no question if you got the same one.

I just downloaded a fresh copy and extracted with winrar. No errors.

However, once you get a error free copy. It is best to upload the zip file itself to your website and use cpanal to extract it. It will reduce the chances of corrupt files during FTP upload.

But obviously something corrupted the copy you downloaded. Try downloading it again

Great thanks for reporting back...I'm deleting all the files from my server now and I'll uploaded a fresh ZIP file and extract it there like you are suggesting.  I really hope this works.

Chatted with  a Host Gator tech after seeing this:

You will need dedcated hosting to make this work.

Frown

Boonex needs to take them off their preferred hosting list!  It's been nice knowing ya guys.

The arrows in admin panel settings may be missing because of custom template !

Try to switch back to UNI template .. then go to admin panel top see if arrows are back.

For the resolution ask your custom template author.

AlexT, it was asked a custom template had been applied and the answer was none had been applied. so resetting to uni wouldnt help out much in this case, because the default template uni is running.

Please try these things:

1) disable all cache in dolphin admin panel -> settings -> advanced settings -> template

3) enable asp_tags PHP setting option

Hi AlexT,

I already initiated a transfer to a hosting account that supports Dolphin.  As I said, Host Gator told me that their shared hosting does not support Dolphin.  So I had to upgrade to VPS.  They guaranteed it would work...so I just have to wait.  I really appreciate you replying and trying to help though.

[edited out by Andrew Boon]  He did provide an answer for you, in the Trac.

Next up, being a Premium Member does actually give us certain things.

1.  It demonstrates our commitment to the Dolphin Software Program

2.  It shows that we have paid our money to advance the program.

3.  It gives us the ability to post mods in the forums if we like.

4.  It gives us the ability to choose to post your problem in "Trac" as a bug or choose to ignore it.  Gawd do I wish this had gotten ignored, just so you could pay someone to resolve it.

See, being a "Premium Member" does give us certain advantages over all the other advantages.  Plus, like the Advanced Members, we can e-mail each other.  Try that with your "Free License" non-upgraded, non-monetarily supporting membership here.
