This mod allows Site Administrators to setup RSS Feeds that automatically imports information into Groups from external sources. This encourages interaction on the site as members can be participants of Groups which are being populated with fresh information that they can discuss (with no effort or no need for the members to actually source and post information themselves).
This mod can also be combined with our Auto Groups module so when members join the site they would be automatically subscribed to certain groups which are periodically populated with information via RSS.
HOW THE MOD WORKS
A cron job will run periodically (hourly or daily as set by Admin) and Auto Fetch the data.
You can setup multiple feeds to run at the same time.
Information that is fetched from Feeds is posted into specified Groups.
WHEN ADDING A FEED THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE :
Title - The name assigned to the feed.
Group - Choose the Group for which the posts from a particular feed should be imported into.
RSS Feed URL - The RSS Feed from which the Group Posts are Automatically imported.
Number of items to fetch each time - You can choose to import all items available in the Feed at the time of the import or just a specific number.
Feed Status - Whether the feed is published or not.
