Spammed by Boonex! And it's Completely Useless Spam at that!!!!

Okay, so we all know how much we hate the spammers and some like me have even taken the step of setting up what we like to call our spam boxes, which are e-mail accounts created specifically to use when we sign up to a site that will most likely spam us.  After all, Boonex only sends out notications when we have e-mail (pm's) or when something new comes out that needs to be mass announced.

Well, it seems all of that has changed.  Now I'm getting this e-mail constantly from Boonex.us

Notice it's a matching e-mail.  Great, now I guess Boonex is going to use the Boonex.us site as a potential dating site for site owners?  Maybe they figure they can get some extra fun when site owners break up with other site owners.  Perhaps this is a new matching system for site owners to developers.  I really have no clue what is going on with these matches and why they are being sent out from a site that I haven't even visted since I first checked out the Boonex secret release of D7.  Yeah, this was the very first D7 version that was viewable by invite only 7-8 months ago.

What's even worse is that now if we comment a blog Boonex is sending us notifications when someone else comments that blog.  This is getting nuts.  We have no means on Boonex.com/Unity to disable notifications beyond when a member e-mails us (those we can disable) but we can't get rid of these blog notifications and it's making our inboxes look like I the only person I talk to now is Boonex.  I can only imagine how many blog comment notifications I'm going to get out of this blog post.  Aaaauuuugggghhhhh!!!!!

I'm willing to bet though many of you will comment just to see how full my inbox gets.

Please Boonex, let us disable blog comment notifications and dump this matching notifications system from the Boonex.us site.  It's literally getting outrageous to get these things and not be able to control them short of deleting my accounts.  Just imagine the server resources that could be saved and how earth friendly it would be to let the members dup these things.  Less e-paper means less bandwidth, less electricity, less CPU resources and that means we get to save some trees!!!

Wow.... a profile that matches yours? What are the odds?

I tried to raise this issue of how it is impossible to turn off cupid emails off in the bugs forum but got slammed for it. Even when when you have turned your own community into a spam machine, and multiple people here have reported that their members have become "angry" over this, it is not considered to be "a bug". Apparently, almost everything that is broken in Dolphin can be described as "a feature" so that new forum has not been effective at identifying bugs in see more the system.

p.s. By the way, there is nothing wrong with having a "matching" system for sites that aren't dating oriented - I do, but we should be able to turn off the spam.

Discussed this today and will definitely try to fix soon.

Match emails are disabled at boonex.us.
Unity will have an option to disable blog's comments notifications in the nearest future.

Is anyone else receiving blog comments notifications ?

Hi AlexT

My site is currently using 7.0.4. I never receive any notification for blog comments and also nothing in Spy wall since 7.0.1. Please help me. Thanks.

PS: I've also checked in Boonex official demo site. I comment in a blog, but I saw nothing in Spy wall.

It was mentioned comments on BoonEx Unity blog, not in Dolphin!
You can get receive notifications about comments on blog post (or any other content) in Dolphin if you subscribe to it.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
