In reply to Thumbs Voting

Ladies and Gentlemen, I bring you cutting edge blog voting technology.

I propose that 'positive' and 'negative' be replaced with emotions. Instead of positive, we use a cute little smiley face to click on. Then instead of a harsh word like 'negative', we have a cute little emotion with it's tongue sticking out that we click on. A single emotion would be placed beside the author's name which would be either a smiley face, or an emotion with it's tongue sticking out toward the author's name. see more Which emotion that appeared would depend on the vote ratio. Here's the real kicker... the greater the imbalance of votes, the larger the emotion grows in size. In other words, if 20 people clicked the tongue emotion, and no one clicked the little smiley emotion, the blog author would have this huge-ass emotion with a tongue sticking out next to their name. Thus, encouraging them to make more sensible posts in the future.
