@AlexT: If you take a good hard look at the code surrounding the XML.php requests, you should be able to get more than a 500% performance increase by writing it over from a scratch, and more than 250% even if you just slimmed it down and removed all that processing overhead. (I think we have all been expecting for notes on what you intend to do about optimizing the script, if anything.)

Just to be clear here: The problem here is with an inefficient script, and while many (common) server configurations see more can escalate the problem, the server configurations themselves are not the problem. They merely highlight a problem in the software design. If you require a particular fine-tuned server configuration for certain features to work, then it should be clearly documented in Dolphin requirements.
