Our current team, name, office, projects and all our achievements are the result of hard and exciting working process, which we didn't stop even for a day, since summer of the year 2000.
"Soulmates"
The whole thing started with a word "Soulmates"... Andrey Sivtsov was already with his dearest Julia and he was actively trying to start a business, no matter what kind of. Among other ventures Andrey and Julia made some efforts to take part in traditional matchmaking business, and even thought of creating a small dating agency, but once the database of the single ladies started growing they had to find a way to market ladies' profiles via mass-media.
Andrey was asking his friends if they ever heard of an Internet website where ladies' profiles could be marketed. Nobody could come up with any idea, and only one just noticed that something like "soulmates" was in his memory... he just noticed something like this while surfing the Internet.
Well, it took just a few days for Andrey and Julia to find a site of SoulmatesTechnology LLC., and become their Associate. This company doesn't exist anymore - they were acquired by Match.com a few years ago, but in 2000 and till 2001 they had a comprehensive partnership program. Andrey and Julia could add girls' profiles to SoulmatesTechnology database and get payment for each and every contact with ladies. Julia spent up to sixteen hours a day submitting profiles, translating texts, and improving photos, while Andrey was seeking for new opportunities to widen their business. That was hard, but fascinating time, when Internet was believed to be a joke, or just an information-source, but definitely not a money maker.
First websites
In the beginning of 2001 SoulmatesTechnology changed they partnership program and required all associates to have a dating website to keep participating. In a few months the company was acquired by Match.com and entire program was closed. Andrey and Julia decided to create their own dating website, which would be in their sole ownership and could grow into successful business.

The very first website created by Andrey and Julia was DatingBeauties.com. Ok, the name is not quite easy to read and type, but that was the very first step! Neither Andrey nor Julia had any experience in Internet marketing or HTML. Everything was done intuitively. The site was not a big success to say the least. Second one was RussianWoman.tv which was slightly more popular and still has quite a few active members. And the third one - 0Dating.com - totally free dating site, which was activated only in 2003.
None of the sites made substantial income and traffic grew very slowly if at all. That period was very tight and decision-making. Andrey and Julia faced a dilemma of staying in online business or looking for an "offline" job.
LoveCompass Network
After SoulmatesTechnology partnership program closure a lot of associates were left in frustration and despair. Many of them had their partner account as the only source of income and they really wanted to have this program back. Andrey has come up with an idea to create a new partnership network to re-unite and start this business again. He wrote a detailed business plan with technical assignment and marketing details. All Julia and Andrey needed was a small initial capital to hire a programmer and pay for advertising.
Investors were found in Australia, but in a few months they had to be moved out of the business due to absolutely no participation in the project. Thus Julia and Andrey had to invest their own funds and take a loan.
The partnership network was created with a name "LoveLandia", and later renamed to LoveCompass. Thus LoveLandia.com domain name was put off for a while.
Andrey and Julia hired a student of KRSU - Emil Sarnogoev as a web-programmer to execute the technical part of the LoveCompass business plan. Later on Emil became a business partner of Andrey and Julia.
LoveCompass development took over one year, and actually never stopped. LoveCompass.com was the first really big and successful website created by Andrey and Julia.
LoveLandia - the real leader
LoveLandia.com, being a spare domain was decided to be used for a Love Poems publishing, just a small, secondary project with no huge plans for future. But in just a few months of really titanic work done by Julia alone the site became extremely popular and now it is much more popular and effective than LoveCompass.
LoveLandia survived a few hackers' attacks, had several design and software updates and now it's one of the world's most popular romance-related websites.
AEwebworks - stepping into software business
During the very first years of operation LoveCompass and LoveLandia were small and brought no profits, so Andrey, Julia and Emil had to find a way to make extra money. The decision was to cut-off some of the LoveCompass' functionality and start selling software for online dating sites. Thus AEwebworks.com and aeDating 0.8.0 were born. Dating software market was already very saturated and it was quite difficult to compete, but after complete re-writing of aeDating by Alex Trofimov in version 1.0 AEwebworks managed to keep up with difficulties and became the world's absolute leader in the dating software development market and to maintain and strengthen this position.
aeDating software, created and marketed by AEwebworks now powers about one third of all online dating projects on the web. New versions of the software are created regularly and all customers get constant technical support.
Big Split and birth of BoonEx
After 2 years of joint work Andrey and Julia decided to split from Emil Sarnogoev leaving him LoveCompass network and keeping AEwebworks.com. This was a hard decision for company workers, however only three people left with Emil while 20 of them remained with what is now called BoonEx. This is when new company came to birth and it was named BoonEx - where "boon" stands for "improvement" and "ex" are first two letters from the word "experts", thus BoonEx means - improvement experts.
After the split company was able to hire new specialists, initiate development of new products and start new projects. After several months old office did not have enough space for all workers and plans, so BoonEx decided to get a new one. This is how the current building was acquired.
BoonEx Office
New office was chosen primarily as the place that would allow BoonEx to grow for next years with the same speed and passion. Most companies fail when they start renovations or acquire new building and start construction works. This endeavor consumes a lot of time and money. BoonEx was able to make great renovation and live up to its normal functioning and financial situation. Most of this is due to hard work of the company management and employees.
Currently 1000 sq. m - building lets all BoonEx members feel very comfortable among its walls.
Sporting facilities (gym and ping-pong), free dining and top-of-the-art security system make BoonExers' working process even more enjoyable experience. BoonEx is building healthy, productive and motivated team in order to deliver top-class products and services now and years ahead.
