Description

This MOD integrates an image browser and flash based multi-file upload handler into the TinyMCE editor in Dolphin. This allows users to easily upload and browse images for use directly within posts. Each user has a dedicated private folder which they can use for storage. Users also have the ability to create sub-folders to organise their files.

User folder names can be selected to use either the users ID, or the users Nickname.

The browser is accessed via the advanced image tool in the TinyMCE editor. Click on the icon next to the  Image URL box. The Browser can also be accessed via the hyperlink dialog - this is useful for linking to uploaded files for file sharing.

The browser is available in all instances of TinyMCE advanced theme.

I have been trying to use your module and I got stuck.

Did everything as recommended but...

In forums, for example, when clicking on the picture icon, then clicking on the rectangle to the right of the URL field, instead of the pop-up that would let you select the file from your computer, I get something different (looks like it's looking for the source on the server and in the wrong place). The website using dolphin is in a subfolder on the main domain, so between the xxx.com and the plugins should be the name of the folder dolphin is loaded in.

Here's a ss

Hi Day,

Yes, I believe you are correct, it looks like an issue with the subfolder.

One fix I can think of is to reconfigure your site to use a subdomain...

so instead of

http://yoursite.com/dolphin/

it becomes

http://dolphin.yoursite.com/

The subdomain needs to point to the dolphin folder. You can set this up in your control panel, but will have to make changes to your /inc/header.inc.php file too

However, this is obviously not addressing the issue with the plugin itself.

I will set up a test to try and figure out what is happening, I will let you know what I find.

I am sure that it's something that can be set in the config file of the plugin. At this specific time, I just can't see how - sorry, I had a few days ago my last chemo treatment and my brain is still a little foggy.

The community HAS to be in the sub-folder. It will be in no way related to the domain itself.

OK, I have't had a chance to set up a test, but a quick look at the config file has thrown this up...

Edit the following file...

plugins/tiny_mce/plugins/tinybrowser/config_tinybrowser.php

Search for the following line...

$tinybrowser['docroot'] = rtrim($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'],'/');

Change it to...

$tinybrowser['docroot'] = rtrim($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'],'/SUBFOLDERNAME/');

And see if that fixes the issue.

Or you can also try setting it to

$tinybrowser['docroot'] = '';

Tried both. It doesn't work.

Ok, I will need to set up a test site and check out what's happening, but this will likely not be until after the weekend.

If you want to email / message me a link to your site I am happy to take a quick peek to see if I can figure anything out.

Just wanted to say that it works perfectly in other dolphin websites I have that are setup directly in the domain.

Just to let people know that it is an absolutely awesome plugin.

It's not working in this case because it's a special setting.

Managed to fix up Days site.

If you want to use this with a subdomain, you will need to set the ful url in

/plugins/tin_mce/plugins/tinybrowser/tb_tinymce.js.php

Change

var cmsURL = "plugins/tinybrowser/tinybrowser.php";    // script URL - use an absolute path!

to the ful URL of your site

ie

var cmsURL = "http://yoursite.com/plugins/tiny_mce/plugins/tinybrowser/tinybrowser.php";    // script URL - use an absolute path!

Great work!!!!

Is it possible, to have an "open" dir for alll members?

I mean, a dir, that have global images inside and where all users can use this images.

this is what I want for my moderators Laughing

Hi Rappi.

Yes - this is fairly easy - you just need to remove the code that allocates the directories and set it to use a common directory instead.

Hey DeeEmm.

Thanx!

It works Laughing

Now I will write a function, that a "normal" user can use its own dirs and a moderator use the "open" dir.

Is it possible, to create a new entry ($tinybrowser['path']['open'] = '/media/users/open/';) ????

So a moderator have its own dirs AND the open dir?

P.S.

Do you have read my PMs? Its older but I will be happy, when you answer me Wink

The mod seems to work just fine but a problem has surfaced and I don't know whats up.

After installing the mod, I used the files for a modded site, my chat room and white board can no longer connect.

Everything else is working great, just the chat and whiteboard just sit there reading  "Connecting".

Can the mod affect these at all? or does it sound like I screwed something up?

My host has been working on this since yesterday but so far no feedback from them.

Any advice?

Hi Ron.

There is no reason for this mod to affect those other modules, it is more likely another unrelated issue.

I managed to get this plugin on Dolphin 7.0.9.  On Opera, the flash uploader for TinyBrowser does not work, no error messages just won't upload,  How can one add a regular upload for those having problems getting the flash uploader to work?  On IE 9 the "add/edit image button does not work at all.  I disable IE's pop-up blocker but that did not fix the issue.  On FireFox it works perfectly.

Geeks, making the world a better place
