You could just use the resume mod from Modzzz. It allows users to include video and photos and information. I'm sure you could get it re-branded to "portfolio".

if you ask nicely (and pay of course) modzzz will link it to the Jobs mod. we did this and it is great. A user places a job (in your case photo shoot) and your members can apply and attach their electronic resume (portfolio) to the application form.
In jobs you could have categories for photo Shoots - Catwalk - glamour - fasion.

This see more also means you will have a jobs "photoshoot" block on your front page. We wanted an "auditions" block and he made this for us.
