You only need to submit to 4 search engines. Google, Yahoo, Microsoft Live, and ask.com, account for 99% of all search queries.

Google 78%
Yahoo 17.8%
live.com 5.6%
ask.com 3.4%
(Source: Nielsen ratings)

Submitting to any other search engines, is a waste of time.
Diddy
Correct,
Those are the only engines I can see in my stats.

Submit to other search engines brings a lot of spam into your mailbox as well.

I say that because there are a lot of people out there charging for this service, and it's not something anyone should ever consider paying for.
Project198
This is true you should never pay for it.. I just posted the link. You can use or not use. I was only trying to help.. I guess now I see whats the point.

These days I would stay away from submitting to ANY SE at all. You're much better off by placing a link to your site somewhere OR using search engines' "sitemap" tools for your site indexing.
Project198
So you are saying gettng backlinks would be the way to go and making a sitemap?
Tallyplayer
Uno is right the I have several sites I have listed them a little differently to see what would give me the most bang for my time. "Relevent" link backs and the site mapped sites have more Google search hits then the others. Still not where I would like them but that is due to time I have not spent on them.

see moreis there a sitemap xml in dolphin, or would we need to maybe have it added into the DOLPHIN 7 ?

is there a robots.txt in dolphin, if not can this also be put into the next Dolphin 7 ?

is the rewrite url seo possabilities to come in the next version of Dolphin, if not can this be added to the Dolphin 7 ?

would be nice to have these already inside the DOLPHIN 7 Package as these are all importance towards a friendlier Dolphin towards google and some others who crawl our sites on a daily bases.

Submitting sites isn't necessarily a bad thing but it's not really necessary either, IMHO. I've been indexed with google pretty quick just getting it up, posting, and putting a link in a few spots. Relevant back links help alot. I do however add the google sitmap tool. Which helps the spiders work through your site.
Project198
Footman: We just started using Sitemap tools and its great. But it looks like we need to update the sitemap about every 7 days. I have also been doing work on backlinks.
Footman
I thought google site maps were updated automatically when you add to your site. I could be so wrong though but that's the impression I got.

sitemaps just help search engines find all your content better. I use them but since I get crawled a few time a week, I dont have to update my sitemaps too often.
It would be great if a ping script can be added to Dolphin..That would really help the SEO for your site..

Yeah, those "submit" sites just submit your email to spam... Houston was right about the 4 major ones, and they DON'T want to see you were submited by an automated process on one of those crap sites.
