FAQ: Am I allowed to modify the Dolphin code?

Dolphin falls under the CC-BY license, and this license says Dolphin is open source but that BoonEx has the right to keep any kind of marks in this software as the original developer.

That's why we have headers in Dolphin code which must stay intact... all other code can be modified and customized as much as you need.
