If you are having trouble with installing 6.1....

I moved to a new hosting company and tried to install the 6.1 Dolphin package.  I uploaded everything via ftp, all went well.  I go to the intall page at http://www.mysite.com/install/index.php - I got a 500 internal server error.  Huh, what!?  Looked in the error logs, I couldn't find anything concrete.

I looked in the expertzzz forums, and someone suggested that server companies are now instituting a new suPHP security program, which my host had installed.  The fix is to take out the php flag command at the first line in the .htaccess file.  I did that, and now I am able to install Dolphin.  Thanks!

Thanks for the info.

Should those deleted lines be put back in after the install is complete?
Denity
is that command in all of the .htaccess files throughout dolphin?

There is no need to put the lines back into your .htaccess.

Yes, take them out for good.

Another good point to remember, is that if you change the root .htaccess file, it will reflect on the child subfolders, so you only actually need to edit the main .htaccess file.

Any php commands you remove from the .htaccess file should be put into the php.ini file. globals off is important!
