Installed and uzip chmod to 777 dir and files 666

you should just need to put www.yoursite.com/install/index.php have you properly uploaded the site via an ftp client?

Yes, FTp zip file to my host then exacted to dophin-v.6.0.0005-free. chmod 777 for dir 666 for files. then I believe I have to go to mysite/dophin-v.6.0.0005-free/install/index.php in my browser to run index cause I installed in a subdir. even complete path...does the same error 404 page not found

If the directory on your server is /mysite.com and that is where you have extracted the dolphin site to, then you will need to do it like this...: www.mysite.com/install/index.php

I get all the way through the installation process AND permissions reversal, when I click "next" I get Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost. and this is in the address bar: http://localhost/Dolphin/index.php HELP!!!

I also have an install issue. When I get to the 'configuration part of the install process and click 'next' I get a blank screen. Have removed the package three times and re-installed but to no avail. Any ideas???

You do not need to upload the zip file to your server, you can extract the files and folders to your PC then upload them into your site directory via ftp client.

which version of dolphine are you installing, I had same problem with 6.1a, this is what I did to solve it.

In .htaccess remove the following line:

php_flag register_globals Off

It worked for me but I cant guarantee it will work for you. maybe worth a try.
