Optimising Ray Chat Performance

Without getting into too much detail, can anyone please direct me to a resource that gives tips for optimising the video and audio performance using ray Video Chat.
I was on a call today and my video and audio out was being received at the other end at least 30 secs (not joking) after I actually said it!!

Once the message was received, I was able to hear and view my friend's response in close to real-time.

This could be due to a number of things of which I need to learn more about. If someone could direct me to a useful resource, or maybe others are having this same problem and can shed some light, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm running the current Dolphin version 6 (I haven't tested any of the latest 6.1 upgrades as yet) as well as Ray 3 Free. I'm also running Ray via rms.boonex.com server.

Thanks

Paul

Well if you had your own dedicated rms, then you would experience better performance, due to the fact you wouldnt be sharing the rms with hundreds of others.

It could be a number of things as well, but I would reccommend getting a rms of your own

Thanks nucca, I knew that would be the case. Is it standard that the boonex rms can be slow?

Do you have any ideas on explaining the difference between my slow outgoing message (only a/v chat - text chat is fine) and the real-time response from my friends connection?
thanks
