What a Night, What a day!, but oh how I'm ready to play!

Well, it looks as if I made it through another stormy night. I almost pulled out every last one of my hairs last night. So what happened, you ask? Well, our developer did the neccesary changes to our site and was finished by the end of the day. I turn around and uploaded a new module after he customized the Langs file in my public_html area, and viola! everything was gone. I was confused because in my mind I didn't think I did anything to the site itself. All I was doing was searching through (and of course added a module).

I rushed to my email to drop him a hot line before he left and didn't talk to him until the next morning. I was so nervous because I had no idea what was going on and honestly, I wasn't trying to pay for another re customization. Well, by the time I woke up he had already fixed the problem and explained to me what had happened.

Want to know what he said?......... I'm sure you do, so I'm not going to be stingy and keep it to myself. He basically told me that when it comes to dolphin, whenever you insert a new module, the language of that module will reset your whole entire lang file. So that means that you are going to have to re insert your customized lang file, after you add the new lines from your module. Sounds confusing? It was for me at first, but I now understand what he meant. I actually went and tried it myself a couple of times. The first two attempts, I messed up but I fixed the problem on my own.

The one thing I can advise for anyone trying to put together a Dolphin site, Find someone who you are willing to pay to help you modify your site  and also willing to help you along the way with your questions. I know some of you guys like to "do it yourself." Which, there is nothing wrong with that. I, myself enjoy making moves on my own. If I don't have to ask for help then I won't. But there comes a time when you need some assistance and a helping hand.. You can learn alot along the way and that is what I'm currently doing as we speak.

I really need to sit down and collect all of the information, I've learned from a few developers, just so I can have it on file. It's so refreshing to know that I have my own tutorials on hand.I can be very impatient when it comes to waiting on other people. I move like I'm on crack when it comes to my business, so I expect that from the people I work with.

I want to Thank Adrian M. For all the help he has given me so far. He is extremely talented in what he does. I would still be stuck down the street, if it weren't for him.

Sooo.. My site is almost ready for the world, I still need to figure out how to change this media player but we all know that I, SlimGoody will figure that out in know time. Thats what I do, I push through and I get through it with no regrets.

A language file should never be overwritten with the original language files when a module is installed if the language customization was done properly. Are you telling us that he just uploaded a lang_xx.php file instead of doing a SQL to the DB? If so then this is going to be an ongoing issue for you every time you recompile your language, try to adjust a language key or anything.

When he adjusted my tab names throughout the site, he went through my language -en file, which was what I was told by James Tadeo to do as well. he went through the whole file and made the neccessary changes. When I went behind him I uploaded a module and all the settings converted back to the orginal settings. So are you saying this is something that I need to do in my SQL Database? Adjust a language Key?..........

my posts are not to hang heavy on anybody's head... i just find it better making a comment that might even slightly make you think something extra , than making a comment that will leave you happy and indifferent .
Which aspects of my thoughts do you want me to deepen?

"Now it has become business- Never let it become such for you too."Doesn't it eventually become business? Is it possible for it NOT to become business because if so, please enlighten me.
