"Looking For" dropdown field in Edit Profile Page is Grey - Cannot Edit

I did a fresh install of 6.0.4. I set the "Looking For" field to be both visible on the signup page and Edit Profile Page. Whe I saved I got this message:

Profile Fields
Field has been updated.

Following strings were added or updated in your language files:

'I\'m looking for a';'Female';'Male';'Both';

Fail to insert or update following strings:

'_LookingFor_caption';'Female';'Male';'Both';

The dropdown is there on the sign up page but in the edit profile it has a grey'd out box with the selection you made when you singed up. ie: male - female etc. Any ideas folks? Thanks!
