install Dolphin 6.0 with PHP5
I knew this may not work well but, I just have no choice. Thank god it didn't take me too much effort to figure it out.
The only big obstacle I met is this:
http://www.boonex.org/2007/12/03/install-problem-on-windows-blank-screen/
Yes, *exactly* the same problem. But rather than rebuilding PHP, I chose to track the problem down. I am by no mean a PHP expert, but still I made it:
call to PageContent at line 520
call to installFinish at line 615
call to RunSQL at line 775
call to mysql_connect at line 1711
YES! If you remove the '@' before the mysql_connect, you'll see this in the error log:
[Sat Apr 19 15:50:59 2008] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in E:\\Apache2.0.54\\Apache2\\htdocs\\install\\index.php on line 1711, referer: http://localhost/install/index.php
All you need to do then is to uncomment 'extension=php_mysql.dll' in php.ini, make sure libmysql.dll is also on your PATH (to make sure, add it to both user variables and system variables. I don't recommand copying libmysql.dll to system directories...do it at your own risk).
You need to restart your computer. Have fun ;-)
I hope my experience save some other guys out there. I would like to thank Beans0063. His post gave me the confidence of fixing this problem, though his analysis was actually wrong - he's very lucky to have '-with-mysql' in there when he rebuilt PHP. :-)
This also reminds me one good practice: when you have to fail, fail QUICK AND LOAD.
