On the status bar i think it would be great if there is a collapsing option to reduce it to a very small icon which you can then click if you want the full status bar back. It is a very nice feature but can be a nuisance at times. Plus you want to give users full control. (you need them remember).

Not really. It is rather a shrewd, move as they are increasing their exposure to people who actually like and use social networking applications. Free advertising.
No one ever said anything about jumping ship. Boonex is not a rival of FB merely a precursor of rivals. Different subject though. As I said, free advertising. The Alpha site currently has just over 800 active members that are interested in the current product. Imagine if all those active members have a FB account. Okay that is not realistic but were are talking about a maximum scenario. A study back along stated that the average FB member had an average of 164 members and 132 median members. Let see more us stick to average here. Times 164 by 800 and you get 131200 users. Being realistic, people filter content and some log in very few times or never again after registering. Even if only 20% the of users use FB active and get the information, then 26000 users who see the FB advertisement is nothing to be sniffed at. Maybe much less. As I said, free advertisement. We all want it.
