benetto,

re:"what impact do your twitter followers have on your website?"
None.

I only have a few and most of them I know personally. lol...

re:"Are you doing it for fun or are you making any money selling advertising spaces."
Making apps is my fun. That fun includes giving freely. I am working on a few twitter apps that I will be releasing free to the community. I've got a good handle on the API. But need a better deployment system.

More about free mods and info see more -> Giving freely to the community produces a Karmaic effect that results in good vibes and good things happening. The reverse is true as well. If you have a scarcity mentality, it will catch up to you and ultimately you will fail.

As far as selling ad spaces, I never really thought about that, but no plans at this time.

re:"Rss Feed blocks are a big burden on any server."
For my site, it's really just the one RSS feed.

I've had feeds on my sites for years and have yet to have the hosting company get upset or pull the plug. I would imagine if you are abusing it, then yes. That can become an issue. Maybe if you are on shared it might be an issue as well.

re:"You will be better off selling something to your followers or your hosting provider will kick you out for excessive CPU."
Selling to followers is not what I have in mind. But to be sure, we are all selling something. Whether it's a product, idea, hosting, religion, lifestyle, whatever. btw, that is a loaded suggestion ;)

I just want to make cool apps whether they tweet on not, I leave it up to those who would give it some time to try it out.

...sip...
