Most definately, and I hate to sound like a broken record, the forums are to narrow in scope. I also think the web general definitions of Blogs and forums are sometimes muddled here. This can be difficult seeing as how the similarities betwen forums and blogs are so closely intertwined. First notice that correctly so in Dolphin you get to set the subject and content of each blog, even vreating seperate blogs of your own. They are diaries, a continuation of one persons thoghts on the topic of see more their choosing. The comments within the blogs are there to get feedback on the line of thought or series of actions. In their very nature blogs are personal and may lead to voices of political opposition or different points of view. These within a commnunity should be addressed on the basis of the topic and not personal attacks on the writers, we all are after all entitled to our opinions.

Forums on the other hand are typically more collaberation based. That makes them more useful for continuing "threads" of information, hence great for questions, and continuing lines of focus with multiple inputs like code development. That threaded feed system requires a constantly evolving set up topics and folders to help control the thought patterns and flows and to make the information more readily accesible. I am thinking this to be the difference and would welcome criticism or discussion one way or the other.

I agree here, the forum are very narrow in scope. To be honest, the forum is ok if you have a small site where people only post now and again, but a site this big simply needs a better forum, it just cant cope, its hasnt got half the things a forum needs to keep it running smoothly at this scale. It needs stickies, announcements, global announcements and it needs to be easier to find things, it just doesn't cut the mustard for a site this big. i think we all use forums for one thing or another, so see more we all know this so im just stating the obvious.
