I agree with your post.

I`m on the Net since 1985 - a time there was no Internet, only ARPA. So I know the history of the web as one of the pioneers and developers very well.

My point of view is a "free internet", it´s information, security and the freedom of opinions. People tend to use new technologies without thinking about possible consequences in relations of personal data. Most see the nice "Gadgets" and other "wizz stuff". When we are talking see more about the internet and development, let us go back to 1990. Since this time, many companys tried to make money on the Web. But there is only one major Company in the last 9 years in the History of the Internet, with a massive Hunger for Information in all forms. No Company in History except Intelligence Services, IRS or what ever - showing this massive hunger for personal data. And Google does it well. The focus of google is information and the results of the collected informations. Not only USA, Australia, Canada, Europe - no the complete world. Is Google a company from planet mars, from outerspace? No, it´s a company from earth with the focus to make money. And if a company makes money, on this planet, in this solar system, it´s logicaly to be caught in a crossfire of influences. A company with so much power and knowledge in terms of data of people.

Now this company is introducing a new type of protocol. That protocol makes thinks so easy to do. Forget now segmented aplications, everything comes together, fast. Okay, nice but nothing really new or revolutionary. It´s a clever mix of allready known techniques, combined with google services. Hungry services that collect data.

There is no question about the future of the possibilities.

No question about the skaleability.

No question about a world with better workflows.

This is really a step forward, but also a BIG security problem.

But there is a question about things to keep in mind:

Black or white is a old gameplay between companys. Apple is "white" - Microsoft is "black". But if you know history, you will know, there is no black and white.

What ever... we will see.
