In reply to Save the Wolves

I had the privilege of seeing two of these animals in the wild and up close. Both of them were in the strangest places, and that made me wonder how they got there. The first one was in rural PA, and when I told people, no one believed me because the wolf population of PA was supposed to be zero... but I know what I saw. It's pretty hard to mistake one of these animals for something else when it's 10 feet away from you. The second time I saw one, was in the spring at Trail Ridge Pass, CO... elevation see more 12,000 ft +. Trail Ridge Pass is well above the timberline, and was snow covered. This made me wonder what a wolf was doing at 12,000 feet, and a very long way from any source of food. I had a pack of beef jerky in my pocket that I left on the ground before I left the scene, so I hope it enjoyed the snack.

LightWolf, are wolves known to travel great distances on their own?
