LOL - You have obviously never used Linux then

The version you are trying to use is over 2 years old (dapper - version 6) try downloading the latest version (Jaunty - version 9.04) and your problems will probably go away.

I have used Linux (ubuntu) for many years and never experienced the issues you talk of. It always works right out of the box, drivers and all.

They do supply a CD - BUT you need to download and burn it - But then it is completely free - what do you expect for nothing????? see more Perhaps you expect someone to visit your house and install it for you?

Regarding applications, program installation is one click using the repository, all dependencies are installed automatically (no need to have dot net version blah and servicepack whatnot). Best thing is all packages in the repository are free and you can search through it without having to open a browser / visit a shop / download warez.

IMHO Windows is a bloated, inefficient, bug ridden platform that is not worth the money they charge for it.

IMHO Linux is better simply because it is more stable and more secure.

But the choice is yours...
