That is probably going to be necessary given that there are now even more versions of Dolphin out there - D6.1.4, D6.1.5, D6.1.6. DB1, dB2 - and the betas don't run as well on different versions of PHP, as D6.x did. And you picked a good example - PHPbb has excellent forum support.
