A good product will warrant praise. A crappy one will suffer malcontent. Most people are familiar with google, and censorship only benefits the people not able to handle it in proximity- Filling a forum/website with lemmings and arse kissers is worse than actually addressing the real reasons criticism surfaces.
People arent stupid.

Sure the latter is alot harder, but it earns you respect and warranted pride in a good product.
