Would be there any way to do a fresh installation of D8 and the import directly into it from the previous versions of D.7.x only the data that is really needed? As it looks like that some functionalities may change from the core, upgrating from whatever version of D7, up to D8, looks like a nightmare to me considering all the extra mods I have on my D7.x.
